Dr. McIntosh has a deep knowledge and understanding of all of the concepts for high school and undergraduate Biology, Biochemistry and Chemistry, plus experience teaching at undergrad/grad level.

She also has extensive experience with test preparation as well (SAT, ACT, GRE, and MCAT).

About Dr. McIntosh

Dr. McIntosh has decades of teaching experience.  She was a teaching assistant/laboratory instructor for an undergraduate microbiology lab while in grad school, along with tutoring various high school students.  After graduating with her PhD, she created and taught numerous semesters of the course, CACAO (Community Assessment for Community Annotations with Ontologies), for undergraduate and graduate students at universities across the US and UK.  She taught students how to think critically about scientific literature and extract structured information about proteins that was useful to bioinformatics databases world-wide. 

Dr. McIntosh worked for almost three years at MIT OpenCourseWare with the Department of Brain and Cognitive Sciences, the Department of Aeronautics and Astronautics, the Department of Literature and the Department of Chemistry. 

Dr. McIntosh finished her Bachelor's of Science in Biology at the University of Lethbridge, Canada, in 2001.  She worked in a microbiology lab for almost a year before continuing on to her PhD with a full scholarship.  Bren graduated with her PhD in Microbiology in 2008 from Texas A&M University

Beyond teaching at the undergrad/grad level, Dr. McIntosh has been tutoring for decades, and worked with a large tutoring company in Boston before setting off on her own with Auxilium Tutoring.
